There are a few things that are always on my summer bucket list: A day trip to the coast, a swim in the lake, cold treats on a hot day and mini sessions in the sunflower field.
We are so lucky to have wonderful farms that open up their space to us: summer evenings with concerts in the field, sweet berries from the bush and juicy peaches from the branches.
This local sunflower field at West Union Gardens should definitely be on your summer to do list. It typically blooms in August and the field becomes ablaze with color. Whether you get there early in the morning to beat the crowds or linger late to enjoy golden hour – there’s no wrong time to get lost in this maze of yellow. And I definitely recommend checking out the farm stand for fresh fruits and vegetables before you hit the road.
