Tulips and an Engagement {Personal} Tulip Festival

Last weekend one of my oldest and dearest friends came to visit for the weekend. It was a much needed patch of “sunshine” and I got to spend the weekend touring, talking and enjoying the wonderful weather we had. One of the things on our big list of things to do was go see the tulips at the Tulip Festival. It was so much fun, and even better because it turned out that in our whole group (70% of them being OR natives) only one person had been before.

My sweet boy right as he picked me my first flower ever, unfortunately, it was one he was not supposed to pick. 😛

Family photo time!!

One of the best things about that day was the anticipation that hung in the air. We all were very aware that Jim had yet to officially claim Susan (my husband’s mother) as his bride to be. Even though the date was set, clothes were purchased and everyone was ready for them to tie the knot, there was still one rite of passage they hadn’t crossed yet. And what better place to make it official than in the middle of these beautiful tulips? We’re so happy for them and the new adventures that are on the horizon!! XOXO

Dirty and happy = signs of a great day.
