One of the blessings of living in Oregon is being close to family. When my husband and I met, fell in love, and got married, one of the things that was important to me is that we raised our little family close to family we already have. A few weekends ago we got to visit with his family, of course my favorite moments are the candid ones, chasing the Littles around the front yard after dinner.

One of the reasons we all got together was to meet the newest Little, Millie! Isn’t she adorable, I’m super jealous of those lashes! LOVE.

Hopefully Aunt Brooke won’t kill me for sharing these photos, but she was experiencing what a lot of mamas feel. Her two beautiful daughters are grown and live a few states away. As I brought them in close for this portrait, her emotions overwhelmed her. I know this past weekend so many mothers and fathers cherished moments like these with their Littles, the bond of family is one of life’s greatest gifts.

Before I took this picture, I noticed my nephew smiling at me in a very pointed way and leaning in close to Aunt Stesha.

“Do you want me to take your picture?” I asked.

“Yes!”
